Thank
you for your interest in our company. Dalla's Machine, Inc., was founded
as a conventional machining job shop in August of 1982 by its owner and
president, Jim DallaPalu, a machinist by trade and a person of strong entrepreneurial
spirit.
Three years after its founding, the business relocated
to its current location in Schnecksville, just off Route 309, 5 miles
north of Allentown. The move, into the newly constructed 4,000 square
foot facility allowed for the company's expansion, adding computer aided
design (CAD) and CNC milling and turning capabilities to its list of services.
With continued hard work and increasing customer demand
the company expanded in 1989 by adding another 4,000 square feet of manufacturing
space, allowing for the company's continued growth. Additional CNC machinery
was also purchased, thus increasing our capabilities and throughput for
our growing customer requirements.
As the company grew and diversified, managing it became
increasingly difficult. In 1992, a local area network was installed and
software developed specifically for machining job shops was implemented
to control all phases of the business. Estimating, job control, purchasing,
scheduling, shipping and receiving and accounting information were now
all integrated and available over the network, allowing for better customer
support and decreased overhead. That year we also added engineered plastic
machining and fabrication to our list of available services. Originally
met with limited success and few customers, perseverance paid off and
by 1995 plastic work had become a sizable portion of the business. A separate
plastic shop was established in order to maintain a cleanliness level
acceptable to our customer's requirements. This shop is currently set
up to allow us to machine, heat treat and fabricate polypropylene, Teflon,
Kel-F, PFA and PVDF, as well as many other types of plastic.
Again, the need for more space brought about another
addition to the shop in 1997. Another 5,000 square feet of space was added
to the building, allowing for a black oxide process line, MIG and TIG
welding operations, stock cutting, warehousing and a product assembly
area.
Plans are in place to improve the quality system in place
at Dalla's Machine. With the worldwide move towards ISO 9000 certification,
work is underway to revise the current quality system in place, bringing
it into compliance with the ISO 9002 standard.
We are a non-union shop employing 35 people at present.
Currently our services include, but are not limited to:
- Conventional machining and turning (most metals)
- CNC machining and turning (most metals)
- Plastic machining (CNC and conventional), heat treating and fabrication
We hope this introduction along with our facility
list provides you with a better understanding of Dalla's Machine, Inc.,
and our capabilities. Please feel free to call us at any time to discuss
any questions or machining requirements you may have.
